significant space constraints, HKS was asked to develop extremely efficient floor plans and adjacencies that could cater to a school\u2019s needs within a reduced footprint.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading is-style-h4\">The Design Solution<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Through careful analysis of the school\u2019s requirements, efficiencies were developed that allow the design to exceed the number of teaching spaces the original brief had assumed was feasible. Contrasting brick creates a silhouette of the surrounding London skyline, further helping to anchor the school in its neighborhood while creating a strong visual identity that has been adopted as the school\u2019s logo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading is-style-h4\">The Design Impact<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Canary Wharf College is a 280-pupil school for ages 4-11. Our work set a benchmark for what\u2019s achievable in future school developments in London\u2019s constrained urban sites. A subtle brick palette was chosen to complement the site\u2019s surroundings and the branding and design ethos of this project is being expanded to two other schools in the
