Upali Nanda, PhD

Dr. Upali Nanda is a Partner and Executive Vice President at HKS. As the firm’s Global Sector Director, Innovation, she oversees HKS’ Cities & Communities practice and its Advisory, Research, and Sustainable Design services, leading research into design’s impact on human health and perception. She served as executive director of HKS’ research initiative, the Center for Advanced Design Research and Evaluation (CADRE), for 10 years and teaches at the Taubman School of Architecture and Urban Planning at University of Michigan. Her professional accolades include recognition by Architectural Record and the International Interior Design Association for extraordinary contributions to the design field.
